VISION CITY MISSION LEADERSHIP Project in Hyderabad

Indian local Missions have grown since late 1960. Till today it has become a big movement. Because of the vision of the churches the India Missions Association was formed in 1977. Since its inception in 1977 the IMA has grown from 6 to 235 members to become the world’s largest missions association with member missions fielding a total of 50,000 plus workers mostly across India and some out side of India.

In this situation, we need a central place for missions to think, plan, train their leaders for all that God has to do through them for this nation and the nations beyond.

Thus IMA Vision City was birthed at Hyderabad, a central place for India, as a venture for helping mission organizations to focus their efforts in India and beyond. Indian missions are involved in proclaiming the Message of Jesus Christ by their words and also deeds in the communities and thus serving the nation in many different ways.

The IMA’s enhancing and connecting programs include:

¨       A growing fellowship of 235 indigenous agencies

¨       A gifted staff of experienced national missionaries from across India

¨       13 Networks- Strategic, Issue-Focused

¨       Unifying Annual National Conferences

¨       Creative Leadership Think Tanks

¨       Creating appropriate trainings for the missions

¨       A  range of thoughtful Publications

¨       Strategic Research: gathering, coordinating, and following up

¨       CEO and emerging leadership development programs

¨       Assistance to 235 missions in their care of over 50,000 workers. IMA membership is continuing to grow.

¨       Global liaison and advocacy with regional and international networks

¨       On-site consultation for missions and churches.

¨       Income generating project consultation for the future of missions.

¨       An on-going specialized global leadership development planned in the campus restricted to 20 at a time.

The need for the IMA’s strategic capacity-building services continues to grow. The IMA impacts missions thinking and Practice both within India and around the world. In the many changing scenarios, leaders must rethink new approaches afresh in communicating the Gospel.

IMA’s dream of providing its vision-casting services and programs to the missions movement from and on a campus developed specifically for the missions movement’s needs is finally within reach.

Impact: 1500- 2000 mission leaders will be directly involved in on site events annually. They in turn will better serve the more than 50,000 workers fielded by IMA member missions. IMA primarily serves the CEOs/heads of the organizations, other senior leaders and younger emerging mission leaders and others are continuously welcomed to join the fellowship. The IMA provides the most comprehensive forum on which mission, business and church leaders can connect in India today.  To effectively bring leaders together the Vision City at Hyderabad has become imperative.

IMA will continue to grow to serve the nations through the committed people of God.
